EPL: Man United clinch comeback win over Brentford amid de Ligt injury controversy

Manchester United staged a 2-1 comeback victory over Brentford, but the match was marred by controversy surrounding defender Matthijs de Ligt’s injury.

On field referee ordered de Ligt off the field due to a head injury moments before a Brentford corner, which led to Ethan Pinnock’s opening goal for the visitors.

United’s protests were immediate, with manager Erik ten Hag receiving a yellow card for his furious reaction.

De Ligt had initially left for treatment on a head wound just before halftime and was forced off again when the bleeding continued, leaving United to defend short-handed.
