Erik ten Hag unfazed by sack rumours despite defeat to Tottenham

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag insists he’s not worried about losing his job, even after a 3-0 home defeat to Tottenham on Sunday.

Despite United’s struggles, with just three wins in eight games this season, Ten Hag remains confident in the team’s long-term plan.

Speaking after the loss, Ten Hag said, “I’m not thinking about this. We all knew it would take time. The ownership, staff, and players are all on the same page.”

United were reduced to 10 men after Bruno Fernandes was sent off for a rough tackle, but they were second best throughout the match, even at full strength.

Ten Hag also expressed frustration over defensive lapses, comparing Tottenham’s early goal to a similar mistake in their 1-1 Europa League draw against FC Twente.

“It’s clear when you concede a goal like this twice in four days, it shouldn’t happen,” Ten Hag added.

However, he emphasized that his players are still responsive to his instructions.

Their next outings before the international break will be against FC Porto and Aston Villa on October 3rd and 6th respectively.
