PDP Governors, NWC, BoT members in crucial meeting after court stopped NEC meeting

The Peoples’ Democratic Party Governors’ Forum (PDP-GF) is set to begin its emergency meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge located in Asokoro, Abuja FCT.

This meeting comes at a crucial time as party leaders gather to discuss pressing issues affecting the party and its governance strategies.

With various challenges on the political landscape, the forum aims to strengthen its position and formulate effective responses to current events.

The meeting which aims to discuss the State of the Party and other developmental issues concerning the Nation as a whole.

The forum is also expected to host an enlarged session which will include members of the National Working Committee (NWC), the Board of Trustees, (BoT), National Assembly leadership of the Party, Forum of former Governor’s of the party (Chairman, Secretary and two others),

Already, the Governors of Zamfara State, Dauda Lawal,  and his Osun State counterpart. Ademola Adeleke have arrived for the meeting.

Other early arrivals include: The Ag. National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, National Organising Secretary of the party, Capt. Umar Bature (retd.), Secretary of the BoT, Ahmed Makarfi, National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, have arrived for the meeting.

Meanwhile, a Federal High Court sitting in Zamfara State has declined a request for an ex parte order submitted by a faction supported by the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum, Governor Bala Mohammed.

This request sought permission to convene the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, this ruling may have significant implications for the PDP’s internal dynamics and its ability to effectively organize and strategize for upcoming electoral challenges.

The group approached the court for an order to hold the NEC meeting as the party’s factional crisis deepened.

Ruling on the case, Justice Salim Ibrahim declined the request.
