EPL: Leicester City’s coach Steve Cooper sacked after Chelsea defeat

Leicester City have sacked manager Steve Cooper following a 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

The defeat left the Foxes just above the relegation zone in 16th place.

Despite only being in charge for five months, Cooper’s tenure has come to an abrupt end amid growing dissatisfaction with the team’s performances.

Saturday’s loss at the King Power Stadium saw Leicester outplayed for much of the match, drawing boos from frustrated home supporters.

Cooper himself expressed anger over a controversial penalty decision, believing his side should have been awarded a second spot-kick.

Hired to replace Enzo Maresca, who left to join Chelsea, Cooper managed just 12 Premier League games.
