Tinubu reflects on special moments with Atiku on 78th birthday
President Bola Tinubu has extended his warmest wishes to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in celebration of his 78th birthday.
In a statement released by his media aide, Sunday Dare, President Bola Tinubu praised Atiku Abubakar for his long-standing role in Nigeria’s political history since the return to civilian rule in 1999.
Tinubu acknowledged Atiku’s significant contributions and influence over the years, emphasizing the importance of his experience in shaping the nation’s democracy.
Tinubu also recalled their collaboration as founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and their political rivalry during the 2023 presidential election.
Despite ongoing political differences, President Tinubu expressed respect for Atiku’s commitment to public service and philanthropy, wishing him continued health and happiness.
“President Bola Tinubu extends his best wishes to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on the occasion of his 78th birthday,” Dare’s statement read.
“The former Vice President and PDP presidential candidate in the 2023 presidential election has been an active player in Nigeria’s democratic process since the return to civilian rule in 1999.”
Dare said Tinubu “recalls many special moments shared with Wazirin Adamawa as founding members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), united in the mission to build a better future for Nigerians, as well as their engagement as political opponents in the last presidential election.
“President Tinubu recognises Atiku’s commitment to public service and philanthropy and prays Almighty Allah to continue to grant him health and happiness in the years ahead.”
As they both continue to play influential roles in the political landscape, Tinubu’s recognition of Atiku’s birthday serves as a reminder of the collaborative efforts needed to advance the country’s democratic ideals.
