Bobrisky, EFCC chairman fail to honor Reps invite as VeryDarkMan declines to speak at the panel
Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, and the social media personality Bobrisky did not attend the House of Representatives’ invitation on Monday.
In contrast, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, appeared at the National Assembly to comply with the invitation.
Also before the Commitee is Bobrisky’s lawyer Averosoghene Omuvwie, Representatives of the the EFCC, and Correctional Services.
VeryDarkMan, who the Reps Panel asked to speak more on the allegations that Idris Okuneye, fondly called Bobrisky, bribed the officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Nigerian Correctional Services with the sum of N15m to serve his prison term at a VIP Section of the Kirikiri Medium Custodial Centre, Lagos declined to speak, insisting that the EFCC chairman and Bobrisky must be present before he can say anything further.
When invited to the podium to brief the Investigating Committee, VDM said, “I don’t know why I will be here and the person who made these allegations is not here.
“Bobrisky said in the voice note that there is a godfather. Maybe The Godfather told him not to come. He has disrespected this committee by not coming here.
“You are already threatening me with arrest. If you detain me, I will stay in the cell.
“If Bobrisky is not here, I will not say anything. If I say anything, let me die,” he said.
Members of the committee prevailed on him to speak on the allegations, assuring that Bobrisky would similarly face the panel but he still declined.
As at the time of filing this report, Bobrisky’s lawyer told the panel that his client’s absence was due to severe illness while nothing was said about the absence of the EFCC chairman and NCoS who had representatives.
