West Ham United striker Michail Antonio is recovering at home after being discharged from the hospital following a serious car accident in Essex earlier this month.
The crash, which occurred during Storm Darragh, left Antonio with a broken leg and saw his Ferrari severely damaged.
The 34-year-old Jamaican international is not expected to return to action this season, with his contract set to expire in the summer.
Despite his injury, West Ham are reportedly planning to open talks over a potential contract extension.
Antonio has been a key figure at the club since joining from Nottingham Forest in 2015, scoring 83 goals in 323 appearances.
As a gesture of appreciation for the emergency services’ response to Antonio’s accident, West Ham raised £60,000 through an auction of signed kits from their recent victory over Wolves.
The proceeds will be donated to the NHS and Air Ambulances UK.
Details surrounding the cause of the crash remain unclear.
