Edo Guber: INEC results portal stuck at 98% days after declaring Okpebholo winner

The result portal of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), is still stuck at 98% upload five days after the commission declared Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, as the winner of the Edo State gubernatorial election conducted on Saturday, 21st September 2024.

A look at the official result portal showed that just five out of the 18 local government results were fully uploaded on the IReV portal, with the percentage of results on the portal standing at 98.83% as of Friday, September 27, 2024.

The local governments whose results have been fully uploaded are Esan Central, Owan East, Esan South East, Esan North East, and Igueben with results of some polling units from the remaining 13 local governments still pending.

When asked about his thoughts and reasons for the incomplete results on IReV, Timidi Wariowei, the INEC spokesperson in Edo State, chose not to provide any comments regarding the Edo election.

Mr Wariowei, who spoke with Tribune said he was not ready to answer any questions about the Edo election.

I’m not ready to answer any questions about the election,” he simply stated.
