President Tinubu loses cousin
  • Tinubu shared memories of their childhood

President Bola Tinubu has paid tribute to his elder cousin, Dr. Naheemdeen Ade Ekemode, who died at 80.

In a tribute to the departed, the President, in a statement by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, on Monday, shared memories of their childhood and honoured Dr Ekemode’s contributions as a gynaecologist who practised for more than 50 years.

Dr Ekemode, trained in Egypt, also served as the former chairman of the Lagos State Hospitals Management Board.

”Your passing has left an unfillable void in the hearts of our family. The fond memories we shared, from childhood through the many years we spent together, will forever remain in my heart.

”I will always cherish your bright smile, infectious laughter and unwavering kindness.

”As a physician, your compassion and care touched countless lives, and your legacy will endure through the people you healed, comforted and uplifted.

”I fondly remember your sense of humour and your caring nature, which never failed to bring joy to those around you.

”Though we celebrated your 80th birthday earlier this year with hope for more shared moments, we take solace in the knowledge that you are now at peace, free from pain and suffering,” the President wrote.

President Tinubu also offered his condolences to the entire family, saying: ”In this time of grief, my thoughts and prayers are with your loved ones.

”The cherished memories we hold dear and the love you gave to us will provide strength and comfort during these difficult times.

”You may no longer be with us in body, but your spirit and the bonds we shared will live on in our hearts forever.
