Tinubu seeks NASS approval for additional supplementary budget for FCTA
  • Did not specify the amount of supplementary budget being proposed

President Bola Tinubu has written the both chambers of the National Assembly, seeking the approval of additional supplementary statutory budget for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Tinubu’s request, conveyed in separate letters which was read at the resumption plenary on Tuesday by Senate President Godswill Akpabio in the Senate and Speaker Abbas Tajudeen in the House of Representatives, however, did not specify the amount of supplementary budget being proposed.

Recall that the House of Representatives had on June 6 passed a N98.5 billion supplementary budget for the FCT Administration.

The president said the supplementary budget proposal had been prepared on the basis of the FCTA’s reviewed revenue and expenditure forecasts and was aligned with the fiscal and developmental policies of the federal government and the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of his administration.

“I write in accordance with the provisions of Section 121 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to forward herewith an additional Supplementary Budget Proposal for the FCTA for consideration and passage by the House of the Representatives.
